Omar Souleyman has resurfaced with a fresh track under the banner of Diplo’s esteemed label, Mad Decent, signaling the imminent arrival of his fifth album.
Released on February 21, ‘Rahat Al Chant Ymme’ made its debut as announced by the label through Instagram. “Presenting Omar Souleyman’s latest single, Rahat Al Chant Ymme,” the label conveyed to its audience.
Named after the Iraqi city that has recently become Souleyman’s dwelling, the upcoming eight-track album, ‘Erbil’, delves further into the distinctive blend of techno and dabke that has earned the Syrian artist widespread acclaim. Scheduled for release on March 29 through the Mad Decent label, ‘Erbil’ will serve as his fifth studio album.
‘Erbil’ follows Omar Souleyman’s 2019 offering, ‘Shlon’, a six-track album. The release of ‘Rahat Al Chant Ymme’ as the lead single marks the return of the Syrian electro dabke maestro after a hiatus of two years since his 2022 collaboration, ‘Sayir’, with Iraqi poet and journalist Nazar Al Fares.
